Scrap Challenge- Squares

Every week i am posting a new challenge. let's get out of our scrapbooking "go-to-box".  Let's do less pinning and dreaming..... actually MAKE something.   even a little part of a project is better than nothing ;)

This week's challenge!!this week, you can blame my 4 year old daughter. i asked what her favorite shape was.... at this moment, it's a square. Soooo....

( last week her favorite shape was a star, so i thought it would be a little harder of a challenge....oh well ;))

My response?
started with a 12x12 project life pocket page.... and i thought i was going to be cutting lots of squares. NOPE! they were mostly rectangles... oops!
here's a square photo with a square mat!!!
Since i have lots of photos of this trip, i also made a standard 12x12 page spread and made sure there were more squares! ;)

This week's challenge!

if you're like me, when it comes to scrapping...you would rather complete a few small things rather than tackle a big event. i dont think i've finished a "Christmas morning" scrap page in 6 years!!!
lets fix that.
this weeks challenge is to dive into a big event. if you are not able to scrap it, make some sort of progress. scrap PART of it, organize photos of your event, pick out papers and make a kit, break down that "Christmas 2010" into smaller piles to make into pages {christmas eve, morning, santa,).etc.

this is for any event that just seems overwhelming with photos, memorabilia, etc.: birthdays, weddings, holidays,vacation, sport tournament, new baby/pet, etc.

remember to post pics, even if its just progress in organizing piles into other piles....wink emoticon
we can do it! baby steps;);)

Scrap Challenge- Old, New, borrowed, blue

going through all of my disaster (aka my craft area) i realized i have 2 weddings to scrapbook that my family stood up in.... meaning biiiig piles of pics .yikes.
soooo..the challenge is to create with ....something old, something new, something borrowed and/or something blue;)

dont forget to post pics;)

My response? 

ive had this "superhero" file for a looooong time ( OLD!) , and finally cut it ! {NEW CUTS!) i am using for pics that are 2 years old (OLD). the "bam" file i just purchased last week (NEW!)...and there is blue in there (BLUE!)!!

so close to having all of them... nothing borrowed this time around ;) wink emoticon 

Scrap Challenge- ALMOST done pages

i am in the process of organizing all of my scrapbook pages/kits/ junks.... ( OH MY! )... and i came across SO MANY unfinished pages/kits- like i need to spend 10 more min on it and it would be done. whyyyyyyyy didnt i just finish it? i dunno... anywho...
this weeks challenge is to FINISH SOMETHING! grab one of those old "almost done" projects and.... (gasp!) finish it!
i know i cant be alone in this wink emoticon

finish it, post a pic, and then eat a cookie b/c you finished something and it can be crossed off your "to-do" list wink emoticon go us!

yup... i have ONE picture to glue on!!!!!!! Again, WHYYYY didnt i finish that a long time ago?? Oh well, it's done now!

Another one-- all i had to do was copy the program on top vellum paper and then attach some flowers

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: 

since my silhouette decided to STOP WORKING today  this week's challenge is to create something WITHOUT the use of a cricut or silhouette or the like. let's go back a few years in time when we had to use non-electrical scrap equipment ( feels like the stone age, right???).
show me what 'cha got! we can do it!

since i didnt have my cutters, i decided to work on organizing!
my project this week is organization. i am going through and finally putting pages in albums, finding out what i am missing. i started with 2011....im through September! i have a few pics to print, a few pages to do, a few to finish... but oh my word does it feel good to have a plan!!!!!!
