Kiwi Sketch challenge- "celebrate"

It's been WAY too long since i have...
1.) blogged
2.) had some kid-free time
3.) Scrap booked

Thanks to a Strawberry Shortcake DVD in the adjoining room, I decided to take off the afternoon from my normal responsibilities and fix my lack of all three :) ... and before you judge me for sticking my kid in front of the screen for a while,  i think i deserved some "me time" since i am 5 days away from my due date with Baby #3... and let's face it... free time is going to be a luxury i probably will not partake in too often ;)

So, with that, Kiwi Lane's blog and sketch challenge was in my radar!

Here is my interpretation!

The Wildcat Dash is the main fundraiser for my daughter's PTO- and I am so excited to be a SAHM to be able to attend these type of events ( and, of course, be "Mom-arazzi").  The kids have a great time running around the obstacle course to raise money for the school.  Go Cats!

Kristen's 2nd birthday scrapbook page

Hello again!

Now that the kids are back in school, i took some "me" time today and pulled out the scrapbooking! ( yay!) I was able to work on my daughter's 2nd birthday party.

Special thanks to Kiwi Lane's first challenge of 2015 for the inspiration!

Of course, i had more pictures than the sketch, soooo... i also added a double sided pocket page, and another corresponding 1 pager. I am now happy to report, i can cross that event off my "to-scrap" list ;) whoo hoo!

Kiwi Lane DT doodle challenge

Y'all know how much i love Kiwi Lane and their templates, right??? ... well... in case you didn't? I LOVE THEM! They make scrapping pages "cheaper" by using papers instead of expensive embellishments and stickers. They make scrapping with scraps a breeze because you rarely use full sheets of paper- they also cut down on the number of "matching" sheets i need for the same reason. 
.... But do you know my favorite reason for loving this company??? THEIR SKETCHES!  yes, that's right, i love a sketch with multiple photos. it's a great start to my scrapping.  like all crafters, i get in a comfort mode ( aka... a rut) and my stuff starts looking the same.  the templates give me a starting point- and it's usually different than "my standard page(s)".  

well, over the course of 2014, Kiwi Lane provided 24 sketches to the scrapping community with the challenge of completing one every other week.... and all 24 by the end of the year.  Although i didnt make the timing for the weekly challenge, i DID complete all 24 sketches. 
I didnt end up winning the grand prize, but i ended up with 24 completed projects/pages and that feels SO GOOD!  I do plan on keeping up this year, and let's see if maybe (one day... like 100 years from now...) i can catch up on my scrapping.... it's a dream, at least ;)

below are my submissions for the DT doodles (as well as a few from their "basic sketch challenge"- same idea, just not part of the year-long challenge). i hope they inspire someone!

Shira and Yoni's Programs, menus, and table numbers

Shira and Yoni loved our offset and monogram programs, but they were too small for their needs. They also loved our gate fold programs, but decided a simpler, single-fold program was more fitting for their ceremony.  We combined the ideas and created a single fold program with a wrap closure.

Using a white metallic base for the program, we added champagne watermarks under the black ink.  A champagne wrap closure with the couple's monogram design was also included.
The first page included the couple's information. The inside details the wedding party on the left side of the program and information describing the ceremony on the right. The back of the program includes a thank you note to their guests, as well as a memorial to those close to the couple.

Keeping the design, a single layer menu was created around the couple's monogram.  The menu's fonts and colors matched those of the program. 

Also created, (unfortunately, not pictured!) single layer table numbers to match the programs.

Amber and Ryan's Gate fold Programs

Amber and Ryan chose our gate fold programs for their wedding.  With classic and clean lines and colors, these programs will add a elegant flair to their big day.

White programs showcased their black and grey ink color choices. The Gold wrap closure added a punch of color.

Jesse and John's Modern 4-layer Programs

Jesse and John loved our modern 4-layer programs.  We customized the cover to resemble their "great gatsby feel" wedding.
Navy and deep purple printing on Cream colored cardstock, the layers were attached together using a silver brad.
The first page included the information of the wedding. The second and third pages detailed their wedding party and ceremony order, respectfully.  The last page included a thank you note to their guests.

Lindsey and Wesley's Scroll Programs

Once again, i had the honor of working with the Mother of the Bride on some wedding programs!

we worked on a scroll program, using the etsy sample as our starting point- we used the same colors and fonts :) The program was printed on cream paper and a purple ribbon was included for rolling the programs.
