DT doodles #5 submission

finally.. the snow is starting to melt, the sun was shining... shoot, even though it's only 30 degrees, i feel like it's a heat wave and i want to open all the windows! ( dont worry.. i wont.. yet...)

This past week i was able to break away from the wedding-work ( my sister is getting married! you'll see a zillion posts soon enough!) and my craft-room overhaul clean-up and  spend some time scrapping.

Last year in May at the Great Lakes Mega Meet ( my yearly tradition scrapbook show!) i was able to meet a few of the Kiwi Land Designers at their booth... and i found this amazing paper at the show as well. seriously, its my favorite "american paper" i have purchased to date- and i DO have a paper purchasing problem, if that tells ya anything ;)
On the 4th of july, i was playing with my girls and my camera and ended up with some amazing pictures...

favorite papers + favorite pictures + DT doodles challenge = yes, please ;)

Here's the inspiration sketch:

Here's what i came up with:

I used a few of the Tiny Brackets and Aspen Court templates- i need to buy Clara ;) :)

happy scrappin'!

Anabela and David's Scroll Programs

Anabela and David loved the look of our very popular scroll wedding programs! They loved the size/proportions of the Mini scroll, but felt they had too much information for that size-- so we created a special program size!
This 5.5"x11" program is slightly larger than the Mini Scroll, but smaller than the full size Scroll program.

Printed on cream paper, their information is printed in Black ink with light pink accents. A light pink ribbon was also included for rolling the programs into its final shape.

Congrats to the bride and groom!

Christine's Shower Invitations

A long time ago, in a not so far away land, there were a group of girls in high school who were the best of friends. their names were Stephanie, Christine, and Lindsay. They were in many classes together ( including Band!), worked together at the community college, and gathered every wednesday night to watch Dawson's Creek.  After high school, they gradually lost touch, but those memories are still in my heart
Fast forward a decade and a half: we found each other on facebook!! Lindsay married one of my high school friends ( i introduced them!), and Christine is planning her wedding and wanted me to make her invites! i was/am so honored!!!

First up? the Bridal Shower!  Christine wanted something simple to go with the light pink, silver, and black theme.  We came up with this single layer invite:

Printed on white cardstock, the pink damask border is accented with a gray border. The wording is in a deep gray color and is in a fun/classy/perfect font for a school teacher ( and she STILL has amazing handwriting! not fair!).

We also created a seating chart poster- including the same fonts and graphics from the invite. (not pictured)

I'm so happy our paths crossed once again! Congrats!! ;)

i'm so excited that (1.) i finished a layout with pics from 2011 (2.) used lots of scrap papers and (3) was able to use the title, spider, and web that i cut out a LOOOONG time ago!
i was able to use Kiwi's Scallops template too :)
it's a good day ;)

Basic Sketch #1 Submission

y'all know by now that i love love love scrapbooking....
well, last week was TOTAL craziness with so many invites and programs coming out of my studio ( most posts on that- after the brides send them out ;) )-- so i took this past week "off" from the business and allowed some fun "me time" scrapbooking. ahhhhhh.

One page I was able to finish captured last year's pumpkin picking with my girls. i used Kiwi Lane's "basic sketch" as my springboard....

my design also include use of Kiwi Lane's "scallops" and "happy trails" templates along the bottom.
Happy Scrappin' :)

Alpha Phi Red Dress Gala Invitations

Although i have been slacking on the blog posting (oops!!!), i can promise i've been super busy over here designing/printing/cutting and overall creating! It looks like i'll have to do some back tracking on some of my favorite projects over the past few months!

First - An Alpha Phi invite!  You may know that i am an Iota Epsilon "A-Phi" alumni- After i graduated, i had the opportunity to create a whole bunch of stationary for my sorority. Some lovely ladies from the Eta Epsilon chapter found my blog post(http://scrappinginnovations.blogspot.com/2010/08/alpha-phi-red-dress-gala-invitations.html) and wanted me to create an invite for their Red Dress Gala.
We ended up with a simple yet super elegant invitation, focusing more on the "red" aspect for the "red" dress gala. makes sense, huh? ;) .( i loved it so much, i actually changed my sister's bridal shower invitations to mimic the red... more on that later ;) )
A single layer red cardstock invitation includes all their information- the ladies of the sorority provided me with the trademarked graphic to print ;) a matching RSVP card was also included in the set.  A white wrap closure holds everything together inside the envelope. Both the RSVP and the mailing envelopes included return address printing, so all the ladies have to do is stamp and stuff ;)
Good luck ladies on a successful event!

DT doodles- week 41

Hi all!
i am soooooo excited that this upcoming weekend i am going to a weekend scrapbook retreat with my girlfriends!!! as much as i love my hubby and my kids, it will be SO nice to get away and get a little pampered. 3 days of pure scrapbooking- no cooking, no cleaning, no "maaaaaa-maaaaaaaa" and no "... but i dont want that for dinner!". yup. sounds like a little bit of heaven.
in trying to prepare and pack for the weekend, i was able to do a little scrappin' before i even left!  thanks to the Kiwi Lane team, i was able to finish up a page from this past summer pretty quickly (well, for my standards at least ;)!

here's my inspiration sketch: http://kiwilane.com/2013/10/dt-doodles-2013-week-41/

--and  here's my interpretation:

i bought this paper pack a looooong time ago- i just loved the bright and happy colors. i was also able to use 3 packs of stickers that i "had to have" b/c they were on clearance and i liked them... i knew i would use them... eventually... :)  happy to say that i found the perfect project for them!
Hope y'all had a great week!
